Valencia CF has secured the services of Nigerian international striker Umar Sadiq on a loan deal from Real Sociedad until June 30, 2025.
The agreement, announced on Friday, includes a purchase option valued between €8 million and €10 million, with the loan fee reported to be around €1 million.

Sadiq, 27, brings a wealth of experience and goal-scoring prowess to Valencia’s attacking lineup. Born in Kaduna, Nigeria, the forward first made waves in Spanish football with UD Almería. During his time there, Sadiq scored 43 goals and provided 13 assists in 84 appearances, playing a pivotal role in Almería’s promotion to La Liga in the 2021/22 season.
Valencia head coach Carlos Corberán expressed his delight at the arrival of Sadiq, describing him as a forward with the physical presence and technical ability to thrive in La Liga.
“We are confident that Sadiq’s arrival will strengthen our attacking options and bring more dynamism to the squad,” Corberán stated.
In his first statement as a Valencia player, Sadiq highlighted his excitement about joining the six-time Spanish La Liga champions.
“I chose Valencia because we share the same hunger for success. This club has a rich history, and I’m eager to contribute to its future achievements,” he said.
The striker’s ambition aligns with Valencia’s current mission to improve their league standing and solidify their presence in Spanish football’s elite.
Sadiq joined Real Sociedad in 2022 but saw limited action due to a severe injury that sidelined him for much of last season. The move to Valencia offers him a fresh start and a chance to reignite his career at the highest level.
Valencia, currently battling to climb the La Liga table, sees Sadiq as a critical piece in their attacking puzzle.
